Staff page
Staff lists coaches and managers who can operate the team. What each staff member can do depends on the staff role assigned to them (Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager, Physio, or Other). New join requests from invite codes may appear here for approval.
What each staff role can do
| Role | Schedule & events | Roster | Results | Opponents / locations | Payments | Settings / billing | Staff approvals | |---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---| | Coach / Assistant Coach / Physio | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | — | — | Yes | | Manager | — | Yes | — | — | Yes | Yes | Yes | | Other | View only | View only | View only | — | — | — | — |
A staff member with no role assigned yet keeps full access (existing setups stay unrestricted). Once an admin assigns them a role, that role's permissions take over. The team owner can always delete the team or transfer ownership regardless of role.
See Staff roles and permissions for the same breakdown across clubs, plus how it interacts with admin / pending-staff status.
- Members who are already on the roster can change their role on the team (for example parent, player, or staff) by going through Join team again with the team invite code — see Switch your role on a team.
- Use consistent roles so parents know whom to contact for roster vs fees vs schedule questions.
- If someone should no longer have access, an existing staff member or org policy should remove or adjust their role.
- If your team is part of a club, the page may show a team filter at the top of the card so users on multiple teams can switch which roster's staff they're viewing without leaving the page.
Add an existing parent as staff
Staff can promote a parent who is already on the team's roster to staff in one step, without waiting on a join request.
- Web: a white + Add staff chip sits above the staff card on the right. Click it to open a side drawer.
- Mobile: on the Roster screen, switch to the Staff segment — a + icon button appears in the header. Tap it to open a bottom sheet.
In the panel:
- If you are staff on more than one team, pick the Team to add to. Otherwise the team is set automatically.
- Pick a parent from the list (only people already on that team with parent role appear).
- Pick a staff role — Coach, Assistant Coach, Manager, or Other.
- Submit. The parent's role on that team flips to staff immediately — no approval step.
The promoted parent receives a notification (email + push) letting them know they're now on staff. Their household and any family links stay intact; only their role on that team changes. You cannot add yourself, change a player's role this way, or add someone who is not already on the team — those flows still use Join team with an invite code.
Team settings
Team settings cover operational defaults for that team: profile information families see, billing and subscription entry points, messaging-related options, and other team-scoped configuration. Open Team settings from the team area of the Athleit dashboard (labels match the UI).
Opponents and Locations (web)
On web, Team settings includes Opponents and Locations tabs so staff can maintain reusable lists:
- Opponents — Saved teams you play often. They show up when staff create or edit games so you can pick an opponent quickly instead of typing from scratch each time. Optional contact info can be stored per opponent.
- Locations — Saved venues (fields, facilities). They show up when staff schedule events and games so addresses stay consistent. Adding or editing a location uses Google Places address search when your Athleit deployment has maps configured, so formatted addresses align with Google’s suggestions.
Use the edit and remove actions on each row to update or delete entries. Removing a saved opponent or location does not delete past schedule items that already used it.
Other notes
- Destructive or rare actions (for example, winding down a team) may only appear for certain roles.
Profile
Profile is your account: name, contact preferences, and similar. It is not the same screen as roster (which is the list of players and the households linked to the team).
Billing entry point
Team billing is where staff start or manage the team subscription and Stripe customer portal links. Parents may see team inactive messaging when billing is not satisfied — see Billing and Stripe.
