Staff roles and permissions
What each team and club staff role can do in Athleit — schedule, roster, payments, financials, settings — and how role + position interact.

Athleit has two layers of staff permissions: your role (admin, staff, pending staff) and your staff role — the job title that further narrows what you can do.
- Role decides whether you can act at all. Pending staff are awaiting approval and cannot act; staff and admins can.
- Staff role narrows what a confirmed staff member can do. A Registrar handles registrations and payments but not financials; a Director runs schedule and broadcasts but not money.
A staff member with no staff role assigned yet keeps full access — existing setups stay unrestricted. Once someone assigns them a role, that role's permissions take over.
Club admins are never restricted by their staff role. The "Club Admin" staff role is just a job title for admins.
Club financials are admin-only. Viewing the money figures — the Money collected and status-breakdown cards on the club dashboard, the Financials page (web), and the Activity → Overview tab (mobile) — requires the admin role. No club staff role grants it, including Finance and Director, and the no-role grandfather rule does not extend to it. Staff can still manage payments and registrations and issue refunds per the matrix below — that's separate from viewing club-wide financials.

The team owner can additionally transfer ownership and delete the team, regardless of role.

The following actions require the club admin role (not just a staff role) — they cannot be performed by a staff member regardless of their staff role:
- Viewing club financials — the Money collected and status-breakdown cards on the dashboard, the Financials page (web), and the Activity → Overview tab (mobile)
- Exporting financials
- Approving or rejecting pending staff join requests
- Adding, removing, or changing the role of other staff members
- Editing the club profile (name, sport, logo, description)
- Managing Stripe Connect and platform fees
- Managing the club subscription and billing
- Transferring club ownership or deleting the club
How to think about it
- If a feature isn't appearing where you expected, check your staff role on the team or club's Staff page. The capability matrix above tells you whether your role includes that action.
- Admins of a club can always do everything inside the club, no matter which staff role they have.
- Switching someone's staff role on the Staff page takes effect immediately — no re-login required.
